Skeeter,
I've seen some that are essentially a rectengular frame of tubing, with a long piece of tubing that juts of the thing on one of the short sides, perpendicular to both the side and the plane of the rectangle. You just slide that puppy under the bike (long handle sticking straight up, to the side of the bike), and then push the handle down and back until it rests on the ground. Depending on where you position it, it raises the front or back of the bike (we'd have to go under the engine block for front, or under the frame extension that drops down in front of the back wheel for the back). The thing acts kind of like a cam. I've seen them at harley shops and at Easyriders for about $100 US.
I've also heard of guys getting a big block of some soft wood, drilling a hole and inserting a length of pipe for the handle, and doing the same thing. You'd probably have to play around with thickness and round of edges.
I hope I explained that right....
